In its third year, the Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival at Walt Disney World® Resort is quickly becoming one of the premier annual dragon boat events world-wide. The event is expected to draw 1,500 team participants and 10,000 spectators. Dragon boat racing is a Chinese inspired sport over 2,500 years old. Brightly colored long, narrow boats decorated with a dragon’s head on the bow and dragon’s tail on the stern are powered by 20 rowers acting in unison based on the rhythm of a drummer. On Saturday, October 16th these colorful boats will glide across the waters around Downtown Disney. This year, GWN announces a 3-day dragon boat training clinic Oct 13 – 15 for individuals, a small group or a full team. Registration is $225 and includes Premium Level Coaching, Video Analysis, Final day paddle excursion to Downtown Disney followed by celebratory lunch and more.
