Has anyone ever seen the musical Miss Saigon? I suppose I’m dating myself, but it was always my favorite (along with Phantom … I’m old school) – anyway there’s a song in that show called “The Heat Is On In Siagon” and I’d like to rename it “The Heat Is On In Orlando” because let’s face it – it is.
Another hot week lies ahead and with it the expected afternoon thunderstorm is always possible. Moisture looks to increase as we head through the week so the chance of thunderstorms INCREASE as we head past mid week.
The normal high temperature for today is about 85 and we’ll beat that today and that trend will run through the rest of the week. If I told you the record high temperature was 96 today maybe you would feel better about things :-). Local high temperatures here are tough to predict because of the clouds that pop up locally but I’m going with upper 80s today rising into the low 90s by Wednesday. (The Weather Channel is going with 96 on Wednesday and I think they are out of their minds, but I’ll be happy to eat my words for those working in the Global Forecast Center should it happen.)
As I type this there are already some showers moving on shore on the east coast, but even if they stay together as they approach Central Florida they will pass to our south, but again if it’s not inconvenient to bring a small umbrella to the park today it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
From a meteorological standpoint there’s really not much else to add. From a Disney standpoint hopefully you can expect less crowded conditions this week than what you saw here last week WOW! I just found out a friend signed up for the Wine and Dine with me – I better stop typing and start getting running!
