Let me tell you something Mother Nature – you won’t catch me off guard like that again. Every model tells me you are going to relax until the weekend and then blam there we go – ruining people’s Thursday in the parks … not anymore … now I have to have the “get ready for a chance of afternoon thunderstorms” caveat in every forecast through October…thanks for nothing!
Well I hope people saw the rain coming – I’ve been on location working on a project for The Weather Channel and well – quite frankly – where I am (which I can’t reveal – oh wait yes I can) – Tampa, FL … it’s been bone dry and beautiful all week. You can thank those pesky sea breezes for your park ruining rain yesterday and today I’ll be the first hopefully to tell you that the chance for rain looks GOOD this afternoon as well.
An upper level disturbance will move across the region today meaning that you need to be prepared for the possibility of dangerous lightning, gusty winds, hail and the chance for brief periods of really heavy rain.
Things remain a bit unsettled through much of the holiday weekend though as we come to Monday it looks like things will stabilize just a bit. Expect temperatures to be similar to the past week with highs topping out somewhere in the low 90s.
