The dry pattern MAY be coming to an end! I’ve thought for a while now that I would never be typing that sentence … whew … it’s been HOT and it’s been DRY, but my friends Mother Nature will always find a way to balance things out and if you didn’t know Florida has two seasons … the dry season and the wet one and it’s knocking on our doorstep now.
A ridge has been in control for quite a while now, but it looks like there’s a chance this puppy could be breaking down towards the end of the week. I don’t like being the guy that says there’s NO CHANCE of rain here in the Sunshine State-so once again this afternoon I am going to go with a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms. For tomorrow and Thursday that chance seems to diminish but once again will rise as we head into the weekend.
High temperatures will remain warm (add in that humidity and it’s best to stay away from the parks between say 1-3pm every day … or go see the Little Mermaid show 5 times at Hollywood Studios). Temps will max out today somewhere in the low 90s and that trend will run right on through the end of the week.
So what about that little tropical disturbance in the Gulf? Well if you’ve been following my tropical reports – I mentioned if this thing didn’t get it’s act together soon it would be too late … and well – it’s about to be too late. National Hurricane Center downgraded the chance for development back down to 20 percent (from a high of 50 yesterday). The recon mission scheduled for today has been canceled. That said, some tropical moisture may start streaming towards South Florida so if your plans this weekend had you headed down that way – bring your umbrella.
