Plan on wide spread shower activity with a good chance for a light show from Mother Nature today. Thanks to abundant moisture in the atmosphere, I expect a similar day to yesterday with wide spread coverage of rain. In fact that rain looks to be arriving sooner rather than later as showers are approaching Orlando as I type this at 9:30am.
Today won’t be the best day by the resort pools with plenty of cloud cover. Storm movement will be all over the place so while the bulk of precipitation this morning will move in from the west – later on this afternoon any storms that form may drift … leading to very heavy rainfall amounts if any particular cell stays over one area for a prolonged period of time.
Thanks to the cloud cover I don’t expect temperatures to get too far past the mid 80s.
Thunderstorm chances decrease over the next couple of days but tomorrow could be a wild ride once again. The models have been changing every day so I will plan on giving a detailed 4th of July forecast tomorrow.
Tropical storm Arlene is making landfall as of this writing and will be bringing plenty of rain into Mexico this morning. Forecasts predict an above average Atlantic tropical season this year and I’ll keep you ahead of any storms that may impact the Florida area.
