So I always like to have something exciting to say over the weekend, but alas – this is not one of those weekends. Sure I could beat the dead horse of the heat wave into the ground, but it’s always hot in Orlando so that wouldn’t be shattering any preconceived notions. So yes it will remain hot here through the weekend – and into October. High temperatures will end up each day somewhere in the mid 90s with only about a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms through Sunday.
Now, I will say this – even though it’s only a 30 percent chance – moisture has increased substantially over the area and any storm that does pop up could be strong … so after so many days without thunderstorms we may have let our guard down a bit so always be careful when lightning is involved.
As far as the tropics are concerned through the weekend, Bret and Cindy (or what’s left of them continue to pull away from the US), and there’s a new disturbance in town near the Windward Islands. This may bear watching over the weekend, and if things stay together I’ll have an update for you here on Monday, but you can always follow me on Twitter (@WDW_Weather) and if anything major happens I’ll let you know. Have a great weekend.
