Emily we never got to know you … so sad … the remnants of Emily continue to cause showers and environmental conditions may become favorable for regeneration over the weekend – so while the threat has “passed” it’s still something to keep an eye on if you live in Florida or are traveling there this weekend.
Other than that … today will be very similar to yesterday with a slight uptick in the chance of afternoon showers. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 90s all weekend and honestly, it’s what Emily (or what is left of her) does that sort of dictates the forecast. Some models have a closed low reforming after the disturbances passes through the Bahamas. Any moisture that would enter the area would be more likely on Sunday so it’s something to watch out for and I’ll tweet updates through the weekend. Other wise plan on only a 20-30 percent chance of showers every afternoon.
The peak of hurricane season is approaching so if Emily does nothing else – I hope it reminds everyone how important it is to be prepared throughout the entire season – because it only takes one storm.
