When I say thunderstorms likely – I mean LIKELY – as in as I write this by the time it’s posted it may already be raining because as of 8:50am there is some heavy rain tracking towards Orlando and #WDW from the West and the rain is making a beeline for the parks – so plan accordingly today.
This little early rain won’t be the only thing to worry about today if you are looking to stay dry. East Coast seabreeze looks to be suppressed which is allowing this early morning convection from the West coast to stream towards Central Florida. There is plenty of moisture to work with and for this reason as the temperatures skyrocket through the roof once again today and a disturbance heads our way – it’s the perfect combination for increased afternoon thunderstorm coverage. (long story short – a water park might not be the best idea today)
Relief seems to be on the horizon when it comes to rain in a couple of days, but there’s no rest for the wicked when it comes to heat. Temperatures will be topping out in the mid 90s for the foreseeable future and heat indexes will easily reach into the triple digits. Thunderstorm chances are high again tomorrow, but look to come back down to more reasonable/normal levels Thursday and into Friday before chances uptick again for the weekend.
As far as tropical weather is concerned – there are not any areas to be worried about right now.
