Hang on to your hats – no really – it’s going to be windy today. That said, if wind is all we have to deal with around the Walt Disney World area today from major hurricane Irene – I’d say we are all extremely lucky as this is a large and dangerous storm.
On the forecast track, the closest Irene will come to us will be today and the center should still be roughly 200-250 miles off the coast of Daytona. That said there is a wind advisory in affect today and winds will pick up considerably.
Thunderstorms in the afternoon have become their typical summertime nuisance, but the wind today may limit formation. That said there’s still a 50-50 chance of some rain this afternoon and any job of the storm to the West would change our impacts considerably. High temperatures will flirt with 90 but due to some high cloud cover may not make it. Gradual warming trend will follow through the end of the week.
