Oh Southern California, why are you doing this to me? I come out again for a visit and you treat me to a potential winter storm … really?! Come on I thought we knew each other better than that! OK (sigh) here we go.
The forecast is a tricky one I will give you that and timing is still being figured out and we all know how these things shake out, maybe it will all just go away if we keep our fingers crossed. That said, higher elevations could be in for a winter storm this weekend – yes I DID say winter storm.
Today looks like the best day we will see for a while, though tomorrow doesn’t look AWFUL. Expect highs about where they should be for this time of year in the mid to upper 60s. Lows will get down into the low 50s tonight into tomorrow morning and a similar day is in store for Thursday. I will say this things will be slower to clear up from that morning overcast Thursday so watch out for that on your commute.
Now here’s where things get interesting. I’m not expecting rain at this time Friday but clouds will increase and this weekend could seriously be a washout though as can be expected computer models are varying when and how much rain will fall.
I’ll know more tomorrow and definitely more on Friday but the National Weather Service did ADD THIS to the forecast discussion which isn’t something you see every day – so enjoy:
FOR SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY…A VERY COLD MOIST AND
UNSTABLE AIR MASS WILL LINGER OVER THE AREA FOR SHOWERS ALMOST
ANYTIME AND POSSIBILTY OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL. PATTERN IS ALSO
FAVORABLE FOR WATERSPOUTS/FUNNEL CLOUDS
Fun times indeed – doesn’t look like I’ll be taking any picture postcards on this trip!
