From the Smithsonian…
The National Air and Space Museum has received a Buzz Lightyear action figure that traveled in space along with educational material related to its mission. The Buzz Lightyear figure, lightened and sealed by NASA for spaceflight safety and weight concerns, flew into space aboard STS-124 on Discovery, and returned from space aboard STS-128, also aboard Discovery. In the meantime, the figure was used by the astronauts of ISS Expeditions 18, 19 and 20 to perform educational demonstrations—and, occasionally, to have a little fun on the side.
