Today’s forecast is essentially the same as yesterday but there is a bit more development going on with the tropical system I spoke of.
Plan on highs in the mid 90s through the weekend (though it could get down into the lower 90s by Saturday). Sunshine will be the rule before noon and the thunderstorms that do pop up will primarily be thanks to sea breeze collision and daytime heating. Right now it looks like chances for thunder are right around 30 percent through the weekend.
The tropical disturbance I talked about yesterday right now is about half way between the Lesser Antilles and the coast of Africa. Thunderstorms are on the increase and most models show further development. Wind sheer is light right now but could get stronger as we head through the week. Directional guidance is all over the place for if and when it might impact the US but there are a couple of scenarios that see the Caribbean as a possible destination so we will have to watch this carefully over the next week or so.
