Once again the story for Florida is all about Isaac – who has had a tough time getting its act together (which is a good thing). First off though plan for a very similar pattern you’ve seen the last few days with highs in the low 90s through the weekend (slightly cooling as we head into Sunday) … expect a 50-50 shot of rain during the afternoon.
Now what everyone wants to know. I’ll keep talking about the main point of all of this being – preparedness. The fact that Florida has not been devastatingly impacted by a tropical system in a while seems to have put people into a state of complacency. While Isaac had had a tough time getting together the storm is still forecast to become a hurricane – though a weaker one than originally thought.
Models keep shifting the official track West which is amusing because on this path the storm will likely impact the RNC convention though we will see how the storm survives the track over the mountainous terrain it needs to go over first. Either way Isaac looks to impact the US and portions along this track don’t particularly need the rain … though I can say that parts of Southern Georgia could use it.
Keep your eyes on the storm though as you can see the story has been changing daily.
The tropics are HOT right now as another named storm could be coming today and another wave is rolling off Africa as I type this.
