Walt Disney Studios has hired Sam Dickerman as Executive Vice President of Production. Sam will be tasked with development and production of Disney-branded live-action films and will report to Walt Disney Studios President, Sean Bailey. Sam was most recently at Columbia Pictures where he worked on films such as American Hustle and Click.
Sean Bailey, President, Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, announced today that Sam Dickerman has joined the Studios’ production team as Executive Vice President, Production, reporting directly to him. Dickerman’s responsibilities include development and production of Disney-branded live-action films.
“Sam is a talented executive with a history of creating dynamic and compelling films,” said Bailey. “His passion for filmmaking, proven track record, and wealth of experience make him a great addition to our Disney live-action team.”

Dickerman is an entertainment industry veteran, having worked with some of the most talented directors, writers, and actors in Hollywood. He most recently served as Executive Vice President of Production at Sony’s Columbia Pictures where he worked on such films asAmerican Hustle, Salt, and Battle: Los Angeles. Dickerman originally joined Columbia in 2005 as Senior Vice President of Production and in addition to successful dramatic releases he oversaw comedies such as Click, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, and Grown Ups.
Prior to his position at Columbia, Dickerman was President of Radiant Productions, the production company of noted director and screenwriter Wolfgang Petersen, where he worked on films such asTroy and The Perfect Storm.
