The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that carried 2.3 million passengers in 2013, up about 73,000 from 2012. It is suspected that the opening of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, with its 2,000 rooms, helped drive the increase. Not only does the new resort mean more guests are staying on property, but since it is a value resort it is presumed to attract consumers that are less likely to spend money on renting a car when a free Disney shuttle is available.
