ESPN.com and espnW Get New Editors

ESPN Digital & Print Media today announced two newly appointed editors-in-chief for ESPN.com and espnW.  Effective immediately, Chad Millman will assume new responsibilities as Editor-in-Chief of both ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com.  Later this year, Alison Overholt –former deputy editor, ESPN Publishing – will join espnW as Editor-in-Chief.

In his expanded role, Millman will accelerate ESPN’s storytelling in a platform-agnostic manner, further integrating an efficient digital and print media approach that serves fans news, commentary, analysis and enterprise content in both a timely and timeless manner.  He will also work with his team to create integration opportunities with TV and audio programming.  Prior to his role as Editor-in-Chief of ESPN The Magazine, Millman served as senior deputy editor and held a number of editing positions after arriving as an associate editor prior to the magazine’s second edition in April 1998.  He started his career as a reporter for Sports Illustrated and correspondent at CNNSI.  He will report directly to Stiegman and based in Bristol, Conn.

Overholt – who most recently developed content strategies for Hearst Magazines and serves as an adjunct professor in NYU’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management – will be charged with leading a unified team across business and content to ensure espnW’s continued growth and ability to serve women who love sports through digital, mobile, social, print, and video.  Her previous experience with the company includes general and senior editor positions with ESPN The Magazine and most recently as deputy editor, ESPN Publishing.  She has also served as special events and projects editor for espnW.  Overholt began her journalism career as a staff writer and associate editor atFast Company.  She will report to Stiegman and Laura Gentile, Vice President of espnW and will also be based in Bristol, Conn.

Other direct reports to Stiegman under the new structure include David Albright (Executive Editor, Revenue Operations), Kevin Jackson (Executive Editor, International), Ronnie Forchheimer (Senior Director, Digital Video), John Korpics (Creative Director, Digital & Print Media), and Jason Whitlock, who will be developing a site fashioned for an African-American audience.
