Bloomberg is wondering what the future of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). There has been speculation that WWE head Vince McMahon may sell the wrestling empire and the report indicates Disney may be a potential suitor:
Disney, with its expertise in managing and marketing characters across platforms from the big screen to consumer products, is another possible suitor, Routh of National Alliance said. The backing of Disney, a $140 billion entertainment conglomerate, would increase WWE’s value, he said. “You can’t look at what WWE is worth today,” Routh said. “It’s about what it’s worth in the hands of Disney, with all of their muscle behind it.”
While it is not certain that WWE will be sold, the article lists Comcast and Madison Square Garden as other possible buyers.
A representative from Disney did not return messages asking for comment on the speculation.
Do you think WWE would be a good fit for Disney?
