Rolling Stone is reporting that Disney is looking into a trademark application filed by DJ Deadmau5. Deadmau5, a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman, features a logo that is very similar to Disney’s Mickey Mouse icon and trademark. If approved, Zimmerman could use the logo anywhere. As it is, he already sells products on his website that feature the look.
Disney has been granted 90 days to investigate Deadmau5’s claim and file a notice of opposition that could argue the DJ’s logo would confuse and mislead consumers.
