Disney Stars Zendaya and Bridgit Mendler will be appearing together for one night only at the Palace Theatre in Albany New York on October 30.
Multi-talented actress and Hollywood Records Platinum-Selling Artist, Zendaya, recently released her self-titled 2013 debut full-length album where she delivers soulful pop with an urban edge. Her first single included in the album, “Replay” was certified platinum for selling 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. and now has over 44 million views on VEVO.
Zendaya starred as Raquel “Rocky” Blue, one half of the comedic duo of young dancers trying to dance her way to stardom, in the hit Disney Channel series “Shake It Up!” She also starred in “Shake It Up: Made In Japan,” the record breaking 90-minute song and dance-filled special which featured Zendaya’s single and video “Fashion is my Kryptonite.” Zendaya was also the break out star and runner-up on Season 16 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. She is currently set to star and co-produce in a topline Disney channel spy pilot and also recently starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, “Zapped” which premiered this summer.
A talented actress, singer and performer, Bridgit Mendler is one of Hollywood’s brightest young rising stars. Bridgit starred as Teddy Duncan in the hit Disney Channel series “Good Luck Charlie” and the Disney Channel Original Movie “Lemonade Mouth.” Mendler’s past credits include a recurring role as Justin Russo’s vampire girlfriend Juliet Van Heusen on Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” a guest-starring role on the hit series “Jonas,” where she sang opposite Nick Jonas, and the 20th Century Fox film “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.”
Bridgit’s debut full-length album “Hello My Name Is…” reveals a surprisingly mature artist. She co-wrote each song because she wanted to work with A-list writer-producers, and learn from the best. “I’ve been writing songs a long time, but I felt co-writing would be a good way to get my footing,” Bridgit notes. “Working with different producers was great because I was able to articulate what I wanted, and we got a cool variety on the album.” In addition to Emanuel “Eman” Kiriakou and Evan “Kidd” Bogart, producer/writers she worked with include Priscilla Renea, Dan Pringle & Leah Haywood, Andrew Goldstein, Jai Marlon and Freddy Wexler, all of whom helped Bridgit get that solid footing. But Bridgit’s own inerrant feel for fun, funky pop stands front and center in her music.
