Fans can obtain a free download of the live songs performed tomorrow night by Chris Carmack and Charles Esten through www.abc.com/musiclounge between EST and PST airing for a 24 hour period. After that window, the songs will be available for purchase through ITunes and ABC Music Lounge!
ABC Music Lounge’s “Nashville”-inspired docu-web series, “On the Record,” is live at www.abc.com/musiclounge with the original song, “I Know How To Love You Now,” written by Deana Carter and Charles Esten. The song, which is also available now on iTunes and ABC.com/MusicLounge, is featured in the season three premiere of “Nashville,” WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMEBER 24 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
In a very special “On The Record” Charles Esten and fellow singer/songwriter, Deana Carter (“Strawberry Wine”, “We Danced Anyway,” and “How Do I Get There”) get together for an intimate discussion on the song they co-wrote for “Nashville’s” season premiere, “I Know How To Love You Now.” During this week’s OTR, the artists and friends talk about how they came up with the song, how the lyrics were initially introduced during a pivotal moment during the season two finale, and how the song ultimately ended up contributing to the overall story line.
“Co-writing, you don’t always know if you’re going to get with the person someone you can really trust to lay your deep secret stuff out there with,” said Carter.
“Sometimes you find out ‘Well, I’m not sure how safe or how much I want to lay bare.’ And I remember very well you started talking about that concept of a relationship that had not been working for the longest time,” added Esten.
“I wanted the love of my life to say this song to me,” shared Carter.
“On the Record” is a documentary web series that follows the life of original songs performed on “Nashville” written by singer/songwriters in the music scene, from the songs’ inception to on-air premiere. The series offers an intimate look into the songwriting process, from guitar demo to music video and all the steps in between.
