Disney is looking to produce a feature film based on the Tower of Terror attraction at its theme parks. The studio has a treatment by Frankenweenie writer John August and is looking for a screenwriter to turn it into a script.
The film will not have a connection to The Twilight Zone, as that franchise is being developed into a separate film by Warner Bros.
Tower of Terror was previously adapted for a television film that aired on ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney in 1997 and starred Steve Guttenberg and Kristen Dunst.
As you know the attraction takes place in Hollywood in 1939. Amidst the glitz and the glitter of a bustling young movie talent at the height of its golden age, the Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right. A beacon for the show business elite. Then, something happens that changes all that.
