Disney has announced that Captain EO at Epcot will be closing at the Imagination Pavilion’s Magic Eye Theater to make way for the “Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival.” This new experience is described as a 4D look into the visionary minds behind some of the world’s most iconic animated films today.
The experience, opening in December, will feature three shorts that will be presented in 3D with in-theater effects.
It is not known which shorts will be screened.
Captain EO will be closing at Epcot on a unknown date in December. Reports indicate that it will close on December 7, but we have been unable to confirm. The Michael Jackson starring attraction originally opened on September 12, 1986 and closed on July 6, 1994. It reopened July 2, 2010.
