Today it was announced that Philippa Boyens, Oscar-winning co-writer of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, will be adapting The Merlin Saga by T.A. Barron for The Walt Disney Studios. The Merlin Saga tells the story of the famous wizard over the course of 12 volumes. Incidentally, Warner Bros., home to another notable wizard franchise, originally had the rights to the book series but later dropped it, allowing Disney to swoop in.
