Disney and Thomas Wylde have collaborated on a capsule collection inspired by the characters starring in Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, which releases in theaters May 27, 2016. Characters and costumes of “White Queen,” “Red Queen” and “Time” serve as inspiration for key pieces and were revealed yesterday in Thomas Wylde’s Fall/Winter 2016 New York Fashion Week runway show. Soo Koo, VP of Product Development Softlines, Disney, commented, “This capsule collection is inspired by street-meets-couture influences, a signature look for Thomas Wylde this fall and for characters from Alice Through the Looking Glass. Using bold and clean colors and luxurious fabrications, Thomas Wylde brings the characters of White Queen, Red Queen and Time to the runway.”
The three looks:
“White Queen”-inspired look
Whimsical yet sophisticated, this dress is a vision of fantasy, drama and elegance and takes a “starring role” as a stunning high-in-front, low-in-back day dress.
“Red Queen”-inspired look
The blood red overcoat in wool/cashmere taps into the Thomas Wylde aesthetic with a perfectly draped, plush hand, sharply tailored silhouette – with a sense of adventure.
“Time”-inspired look
This strong chic, slick suit takes a bold stance at suiting for a modern woman. A long cape and inspired shape for the jacket with slim fit trousers with ruffle details.
The capsule collection will be in stores timed to the global release of the film and will be sold at fine specialty retailers and online retailers worldwide.
