Ariana Grande and DNCE are scheduled to perform at the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA) taking place Saturday, April 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Additionally, Katherine McNamara and Emeraude Toubia of Freeform’s Shadowhunters have been named presenters.
“Radio Disney has long supported Ariana Grande and is delighted to showcase her talent again at the Radio Disney Music Awards. Similarly, we can’t wait for DNCE to take the stage – they have quickly become Radio Disney fan favorites,” said Phil Guerini, vice president, Music Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide and general manager, Radio Disney Networks.
Republic Records artist Ariana Grande, already a four-time ARDY recipient, is nominated this year for “Move! – Best Song To Dance To” for her single “Focus” and will return to the stage where she made her debut performance of her hit single, “Problem” at the 2014 RDMA. Republic Records band DNCE, comprised of band members Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle and JinJoo are first-time RDMA nominees in three categories including “The Freshest – Best New Artist” and “That’s My Jam – Best Anthem” for their platinum selling debut single “Cake By The Ocean.”
Voting is open now through Sunday, April 10 at Disney.com/RDMA, the Radio Disney app, Google OneBox and via Radio Disney’s Facebook and Twitter profiles.
Winners will be announced at the 2016 RDMA on Saturday, April 30 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with a two-hour television special “Disney Channel Presents the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards” originating from the event to be presented Sunday, May 1 (7:00-9:00 p.m. EDT) on Disney Channel.
