Walt Disney World has announced the 2016 dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as well as new costuming guidelines.
This year’s edition will see the return of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and Happy HalloWishes fireworks as well as trick-or-treating throughout the Magic Kingdom.
This year’s dates are:
- September – 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30
- October – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31
Disney also announced new costuming guidelines for the party. While costumed attire may be worn, guests ages 14 and older are strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening. Additionally, costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
Last December, Disney released new admission guidelines which reiterated that costumes would not be allowed for guests aged 14 years and older. At that time, Disney stated they were not aware of any exceptions to this policy. Now we know that Disney will ease the policy for their annual Halloween events.
Ticket prices and on-sale dates will be announced at a future date. With Disney launching the “After Hours” program at $149 we may see a significant increase in the prices from $63-$87.
