Emmy and Oscar winning actress Patty Duke has died at the age of 69. The actress, who is best known for her twin role on The Patty Duke show, recently played twins again on Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie when she portrayed Grandma Janice and Great-Aunt Hillary.
Duke won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 16 for her role in The Miracle Worker, which she had originated on Broadway. Following her sitcome role, she played Neely O’Hara in the 1967 film Valley of the Dolls.
She is also the mother of actor Sean Astin who has had several Disney voice over roles include Special Agent Oso.
