Hasbro posted a 16% increase in sales for the first quarter based on the strength of Star Wars toys and the Disney Princess franchise which it took over from Mattel.
This news has caused a bounce in Disney’s stock price which reached a three month high.
Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Office said, “Demand for Star Wars: The Force Awakens products continued to be high and we benefited from the addition of Disney Princess and Frozen fashion and small dolls. We are very encouraged with global demand and our outlook for 2016.”
