Who says you can’t go home again? Actress Raven-Symoné is stepping down as a panelist on ABC’s The View in order to return to Disney Channel. Symoné will star in and produce a sequel series to the fan favorite That’s So Raven, which ran on the network in the mid-2000s.
According to Deadline, Symoné will reprise her role as Raven Baxter, who is now a divorced mother of two. Naturally one of her kids has inherited her ability to (sort of) see into the future. The new series has yet to find a name.
Symoné made the announcement on today’s The View:
“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world. Her performance in That’s So Raven is timeless,” said Adam Bonnett, EVP Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. “We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
