According to The Hollywood Reporter, Star Wars Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow is flying to Los Angeles for meeting with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy to discuss how the death of Carrie Fisher will impact the course of the film. While the film is expected to start shooting in about a year, how the untimely passing of Fisher will impact the script needs to be determined.
It has been reported that Fisher played a larger role in Episode VIII, which filming has been completed on. It is unknown where that film leaves Fisher’s General Leia.
The article proposes that rewrites, reshoots of Episode VIII, and using a CGI double are options to close out Leia’s story.
