A teenager in Florida has been arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit tickets to Walt Disney World using the popular site Craiglist. As ClickOrlando reports, Branden Bullerin was caught in a sting operation that was conducted after a family reported buying the invalid tickets from Bullerin at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The victims had apparently posted an ad on Craiglist inquiring about cheap Disney World tickets, to which Bullerin responded to.
Oddly, the tickets had Bullerin’s real name on them as though he was a Cast Member. However, they also included many grammatical errors, as noted by ClickOrlando. Additionally, a Disney spokesperson has confirmed Bullerin is not employed by the company nor has he ever been.
Once Bullerin was confronted by police, moments after he unknowingly sold five phony tickets to an undercover detective for $400, he said he was working with a friend to pull off the scam. That friend turned out to be Jimmy Messer, who arrived at MCO driving a taxi that was found to contain over 50 fake tickets to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.
Messer was arrested on charges of possessing a fraudulent theme park admission ticket while Bullerin faces felony charges of third-degree grand theft, forgery and scheme to defraud.
