With lots of questions regarding Bob Iger’s role on President Trump’s Strategic Policy Council and curiosity regarding the President’s role in Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents, we can comment on one Disney-related tradition that is coming in. President Trump will not fill-out a March Madness bracket on ESPN.
ESPN told the Washington Post, “We expressed our interest to the White House in continuing the presidential bracket. They have respectfully declined.”
The White House issued its own statement saying,“We look forward to working with ESPN on another opportunity in the near future.”
The tradition is fairly recent as it began with President Obama when ESPN’s Andy Katz knew he was a basketball fan and would be inclined to participate. It was suspected that no matter who became the 45th President of the United States, the tradition might end.
