Today, Disney hosted a press junket for their upcoming film Beauty and the Beast. While such events usually include panels where reporters can ask the filmmakers questions about the project, these attendees were also treated to a brief concert by award-winning composer Alan Menken. Menken performed a medley of songs from the film — both new additions and old classics — before closing out the set with help from a couple of friends: Josh Gad and Luke Evans, who play LeFou and Gaston respectively in the new film. While the trio performed the classic “Gaston,” Gad also seemed to make an off-the-cuff joke about the recent controversy regarding his character’s sexuality.
