Earlier this year, Disneyland’s famous Pirates of the Caribbean attraction celebrated its 50th anniversary. Now the Disney Parks Blog has announced that the classic ride will also be a main feature of the Walt Disney Archives Exhibit coming to this year’s D23 Expo. In a nod to the earworm song that plays throughout the attraction, the exhibit will go by the name “A Pirate’s Life for Me: Disney’s Rascals, Scoundrels and Really Bag Eggs” and will also incorporate other memorable Disney pirates such as Captain Hook. The Parks blog promises that, along with some familiar figures, the exhibit will include concept art for the Disneyland park attraction, classic merchandise items, and canons from the original attraction.
Also on the show floor, the Archives will present “Fantastical Fashions,” a dazzling selection of dresses worn by beloved heroines and sinister villainesses. Costumes from six of Disney’s live-action fantasy films will be showcased including Enchanted (2007), Maleficent (2014), and Beauty and the Beast (2017).
The 2017 D23 Expo will be held July 14th through the 16th at the Anaheim Convention Center. For tickets and more information, be sure to head to D23expo.com.
