Disney Channel star and Hollywood Records recording artist Sabrina Carpenter is being sued. Stan Rogow and Elliot Lurie have filed suits against the star, her parents, and manager for breach of contract and are seeking damages and restitution.
The lawsuit claims that they were brought in by her manager Bill Perlman in an effort to boost her reputation and her music career. As a result, they were supposed to get half of Perlman’s commissions. They also claim that her five-album deal and her role on Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World came about due to their efforts.
The duo said they were dismissed in August 2014 and that they are owed commissions. They say, under their termination and release agreement, they are owed a stake of Carpenter’s gross earnings and advances in connection with her albums Eyes Wide Open and Evolution.
Perlman did not immediately respond to The Hollywood Reporter’s request for comment.
While Girl Meets World has ended its run, Carpenter continues her relationship with Hollywood Records. She is currently on The De-Tour and is scheduled to perform in Miami on August 4 prior to heading to Orlando.
