Later this year, VOID Experience Centers will open at Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort and Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort and present a new VR attraction Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire to guests. As TechCrunch reports, Disney Accelerator startup The VOID announced that it’s working with Lucasfilm and ILMxLAB to develop a new interactive experience based on the popular property. VOID describes this “hyper-reality” experience, saying “Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire will plunge guests directly into the iconic Star Wars galaxy. They will move freely throughout the untethered, social, and multi-sensory Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire experience in a way that allows them to interact and engage with friends, family and Star Wars characters.” Additionally, VOID co-founder Curtis Hickman notes, “A truly transformative experience is so much more than what you see with your eyes; it’s what you hear, feel, touch, and even smell. Through the power of The VOID, guests who step into Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire won’t just see this world, they’ll know that they are part of this amazing story.”
If you’re wondering what this new attraction might be like, one place to look is The VOID’s current Ghostbusters VR experience, which is now open in Utah, New York, Dubai and Canada:
