With the Broadway-bound Disney musical Frozen set to begin previews in Dever, Colorado this month, a new poster for the production has been released. As Andrew Flatt, Disney Theatrical’s senior vice president, tells the New York Times, this one-sheet had to do a lot of jobs, including highlighting what sets the stage version apart from the film while still reminding fans of the beloved modern classic. Naturally, that means invoking the wintery mix of blue hues found in art for the film and beyond:
Additionally, Flatt shared seven other poster designs he and his team created along the way that were rejected for one reason or another. For more on why each poster was ultimately passed over, be sure to check out the full NYT article.
Frozen will debut at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on August 17th where it will perform through October 1st before heading to the Great White Way in 2018.
