At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, one film that made a big splash was The Florida Project, starring Willem Dafoe, Brooklynn Prince, Bria Vinaite and Valeria Cotto. The film comes from director Sean Baker, who also co-wrote the script with producer Chris Bergoch, and tells the tale of a homeless family living in a budget motel on the outskirts of Walt Disney World. Of course, given the film’s proximity to the vacation kingdom, the title The Florida Project is no accident and serves as a reference many Disney fans will quickly pick up on. Check out the just-released trailer for the film:
The Florida Project will be released in select theatres October 6th — just days after Walt Disney World’s 46th anniversary.
