The Jetsons
ABC has picked up the pilot for a live-action multi-camera sitcom adaptation of The Jetsons. The show comes from producer Robert Zemeckis (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and Warner Bros who now owns the Hanna-Barbara library.
The show will focus on George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, and Jane his wife. Presumably, dog Astro will play a role as well. According to ABC, the show “looks at America’s favorite future family through a modern filter.”
While it may seem odd that Disney-owned ABC would pick up a series based off another animation studio’s property, the original run of The Jetsons aired on ABC in 1963.
