Walt Disney World has announced the performers for the Disney on Broadway series at Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts. Performers from Disney Theatrical productions will take the American Gardens Theatre stage and sing songs from a wide range of Disney shows. New this year is Kara Lindsay from Newsies who will join Tarzan’s Kevin Massey for the opening weekend.
Here is the lineup.
Jan. 12-15 and 19-22 2018: Kara Lindsay from the original Broadway production and film of Newsies will join returning performer Kevin Massey, star of the title role in Tarzan on Broadway, performing favorite tunes from Tarzan, Aladdin, Newsies andFrozen.
Jan. 26-29 and Feb. 2-5 2018: Kissy Simmons from the Broadway production of The Lion King and Alton Fitzgerald White, Broadway’s longest-running Mufasa from The Lion King, take the stage with songs from Tarzan, The Lion King, Aida, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid.
Feb. 9-12 and 16-19 2018: Ashley Brown, known for her starring roles in Mary Poppinsand Beauty and the Beast, and Josh Strickland, known for playing the title role in the original Broadway production of Tarzan, bring to life the songs of Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, Newsies and Frozen.
The Disney on Broadway series takes place on Fridays through Mondays at America Gardens Theatre with shows at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m during the run of the festival.
