The top boys and girls basketball players in the United States and from around the globe will battle for world supremacy this upcoming summer when ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World hosts the Jr. NBA World Championship.
The championship, a first-of-its kind global youth basketball tournament, will feature boys and girls divisions (14 and under), each comprised of 16 regional champions (eight U.S. and eight international teams) who will compete in the inaugural event August 7-12 at the sports complex.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard and three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade and Los Angeles Sparks forward and WNBA champion Candace Parker will serve as global ambassadors for the Jr. NBA World Championship.
The tournament tips off in the spring of 2018 with U.S. and international games being contested across various regional sites that will be announced early next year.
