The Disneyland Resort has provided further details about the scheduled refurbishments at Disneyland Park. First, starting January 8, Disneyland will begin replacing all of the track for the Horse-Drawn Streetcar. All Main Street Vehicles will not operate while this work is being completed. While sections of the track had been replaced previously, this is the first time that the entire track is being redone. The original sections of the track will be preserved as a part of Disneyland history. In addition, Main Street will feature new brick work which is designed to enhance the street’s aesthetic. This work is scheduled to end in the late winter.
Also on January 8, Dumbo the Flying Elephant will close for refurbishment. In addition to the normal work or repainting, the park will be moving the attraction’s queue and building a new shade structure to increase the comfort for guests waiting for their turn to take a spin. The attraction is expected to reopen in early spring.
Refurbishments are common at the Disneyland Resort at this time of year due to lower crowd levels.
