According to the Orlando Sentinel, a 46-year-old man was medevaced from the Disney Dream on Thursday as the ship was in waters 80 miles from West Palm Beach. After those aboard called the Coast Guard, a helicopter took the man to a hospital in West Palm Beach. In regards to the incident, Lieutenant Michael Wightman told the paper, “This was one of those times where every second counted, and I’m very grateful for the professionalism of the Disney crew and the hospital staff in their efforts to transport the patient as safely and efficiently as possible.” No other details — including the patient’s name or ailment — have been released at this time.
