The Muppets have performed on many different stages over the years, and 2018 will be no exception. With the mega success of Muppets Take the Bowl last year, the hilarious troupe has their sights set on Europe — The O2 Theater in London to be exact. You may recall that SNL alum, Bobby Moynihan emceed the live show in Los Angeles (which you can read Alex’s recap of) last time around. It’s unclear who will be joining the Muppets in London, but they promise special guests. The events will take place July 13th and 14th, will tickets going on sale February 28th.
Oh My Disney had the chance to chat with some of the Muppets themselves and get the full scoop:
Kermit the Frog sounds pretty excited:
“We’ve wanted to do a show like this for a long time, and now—after finally getting all Miss Piggy’s luggage through customs—we have the chance to appear live at The O2 arena! … There’ll be music, comedy, incredible surprises, plus total and complete chaos. In other words: It’s the Muppets! Yaaaay!”
Miss Piggy adds:
“I can’t wait to be there to entertain, astonish, dazzle, and otherwise gobsmack all moi’s fabulous fans! Wear socks, sweetie, cause I’m gonna knock ‘em off. I will amaze everyone with this first-ever live performance … and, of course, for the official renaming of ‘The MOI 2’ arena.”
Of course, Statler and Waldorf have to get in the last word.
Statler says:
“This is gonna be the ultimate ‘Don’t Miss It’ event …”
And Waldorf adds:
“Yeah, if you don’t go to it, you won’t miss it.”
The Muppets Take the O2 will perform July 13th and 14th.
