This summer, a new exhibit will be coming to the American Heritage Gallery at The American Adventure in Epcot. Titled “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art,” the upcoming exhibit will be made possible through a collaboration with the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C. As the Disney Parks Blog reports, artists such as Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo), Glenda McKay (Ingalik-Athabascan), and Juanita Growing Thunder (Assiniboine Sioux) will have their work on display. The exhibit also promises interactive elements, including words from the artists themselves. Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art is set the open this summer and join Norway’s “God’s and Vikings” as a new addition to Epcot’s World Showcase.
