D Cappella Group Launched by Disney; To Lead Nationwide Tour

Disney Music Group has announced D Cappella. The group performs classic Disney favorites from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and more which are arranged by Deke Sharon. He will also serve as music director, arranger and producer of the D Cappella U.S. nationwide tour launching in early 2019. They have already released their first music video, which is a medley of Disney songs, their debut single (Immortals from Big Hero 6), and will perform on American Idol’s Disney Night.

Antonio Fernandez (Vocal Percussion)

• Has been performing for the last 15 years
• Member of a cappella group “Boots and Cats” at Central Washington University
• Vocal Captain for ‘American Music Machine,’ an a cappella group at the Disney Parks
• His favorite song to perform a cappella is “Drive” by Bobby McFerrin
• His favorite Disney song is “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan

Joe Santoni (Bass)

• Has been performing for the past 12 to 13 years
• Performed Zelda, Symphony of Goddesses with the LA Choral Lab to a sold out crowd at the Dolby Theater
• His favorite songs to perform a cappella are “The Hymn of Acxiom” by Vienna Teng and “My Heart With You” by The Rescues
• His favorite Disney songs are “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” Mulan, “When She Loved Me” Toy Story 2, “Circle of Life” Lion King, “When You Wish Upon a Star” Pinocchio

Morgan Keene (Soprano)

• Has been performing for 11 years
• National tour of “Newsies” for 2 years (Katherine)
• Gold medal/Classical Voice at Musicfest Northwest
• Her favorite song to perform a cappella is “Lucky” from Floyd Collins, the musical
• Her favorite Disney song is “Someday My Prince Will Come”

Orlando Dixon (Baritone)

• Has been performing for 11 years
• Finalist on The Voice
• Composer Billboard Top 20 Song
• Performed with One Republic, Jason Derulo, and Zac Brown Band
• His favorite song to perform a cappella is “Knock Me Off My Feet” by Stevie Wonder
• His favorite Disney song is “A Whole New World”

RJ Woessner (Tenor)

• Has been performing professionally for 8 years, singing for 17 years
• Member of ‘Vocalosity’; and ‘Pitch Slapped’ at Berklee College of Music
• Performed with Jim Carrey on Saturday Night Live
• His favorite song to perform a cappella is anything by Boyz II Men
• His favorite Disney song is “The Circle of Life” from The Lion King

Shelley Regner (Mezzo)

• Grew up singing in choir
• Began her a cappella career in Pitch Perfect, and went on to star in all three installments as “Ashley”
• Was a member of “Vocalosity”
• Doesn’t have a favorite song to sing a cappella, but does like to sing the more upbeat pop songs when the percussion can jam and everyone is vibing to the beat
• Her favorite Disney songs are “Hakuna Matata” Lion King, “A Whole New World” Little Mermaid, and “Candle on the Water” Pete’s Dragon

Sojourner Brown (Alto)

• Has been performing for 18 years
• Performed at the 2017 Tony Awards
• NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate
• Her favorite song to perform a cappella is “What I’m Doing Here” by Lake Street Dive, or anything by Lianne La Havas
• Her favorite Disney song is “You’ll Be In My Heart” from Tarzan
