New Table Service Dining Location Coming to Epcot’s Japan Pavilion

Epcot foodies will be happy to know that a new table service restaurant is coming to the Japan Pavilion at Epcot.

  • The new signature dining location is said to be inspired by the natural beauty of Japan.
  • Nature and “takumi” (Japanese for “artisan”) will be major themes of the new location, which will also celebrate “the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world.”
  • Mitsukoshi USA will operate the upcoming restaurant.
  • The company also operates the current pavilion table service locations Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining as well as the popular retail shop.
  • More information about the upcoming dining location is expected to be announced soon.

ICYMI — More Walt Disney World News:

  • Over the weekend, the Maleficent dragon float that appears in Magic Kingdom’s Festival of Fantasy parade caught fire. Luckily, no injuries were reported from the incident.
  • In other Epcot dining news, Disney confirmed that the new space-themed restaurant will be located between Mission: SPACE and Test Track. The location will be operated by Patina Group, which also operated numerous other Disney Parks eateries includingTutto Italia Ristorante and the recently opened Edison complex.
  • Recently, Walt Disney World announced that it would no longer be hosting their Night of Joy events. The Christian music festivals had been an annual fixture at the resort since 1983.
  • Next month, as part of Walt Disney World’s Incredible Summer promotion, Epcot will debut Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live!  Located at the American Guardians Theatre, this new entertainment offering will feature Star-Lord and Gamora as well as an alien orchestra that will perform songs from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtracks. This comes as a new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster is being constructed in the space formerly occupied by Ellen’s Energy Adventure.
  • Finally, Toy Story Land is set to officially open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30th. In preparation for its minor move to the new land, Disney has announced that Toy Story Mania will be unavailable from June 11 to June 18th.
