When they say super heroes are taking the world by storm, they’re not lying. A football stadium in Melbourne, Australia is about to undergo a name change. The currently named Etihad Stadium will become Marvel Stadium later this year.
What’s happening:
- According to News.com.au, The Walt Disney Company has signed an 8 year deal with the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia after purchasing the naming rights.
- On September 1st of this year, the venue will become Marvel Stadium and will reportedly undergo a rebranding.
- A premium Marvel shop is set to find a home at the stadium where Marvel characters and stories will come to life.
- Etihad Airways had previously purchased the naming rights in 2009.
- The Stadium is home to the several teams in the Australian Football League
- Some fans seem thrilled about the changes, others aren’t looking forward to it.
