Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Loc, Zip-a-Dee-A my oh my a new sponsor’s headin’ this way…according to several sources, Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain is getting a ride sponsor in August.
What’s happening:
- WDWMagic has reported that Ziploc–an SC Johnson company–will be the official ride sponsor of Magic Kingdom’s Splash Mountain. Guests will reportedly be offered Ziploc bags to store any electronics and smart devices they may have on them when they ride.
- The plastic bags will prevent such devices from getting wet as riders take the big plunge down the attraction’s iconic hill.
- Incidentally, today Disney announced they are eliminating plastic straws from their parks and resorts among other changes in an effort to reduce pollution and protect marine life.
In other news:
- Epcot’s Kidcot Fun Stops have recently changed over from Duffy themed stops to Mickey and Friends. This new version is also sponsored by Ziploc.
- Kids and their families can travel the world by first stopping at any of the 11 pavilions around World Showcase. There they’ll meet Cast Members from that country or region and receive a traveler’s activity card full of fun facts about the country they’re visiting.
- Kids will also receive a suitcase themed Ziploc bag to store all of their traveler’s activity cards.
- Once they’ve visited each country, they’ll receive a special postcard from Mickey to commemorate their adventures.
