With all of the sequels, remakes, Marvel, and Star Wars films Disney puts these days, it can be easy to forget that they sometimes adapt hit novels as well. That’s the case with Artemis Fowl, which the studio just released the first teaser trailer and post for today.
- Artemis Fowl is adapted from the book by Eoin Colder and follows a 12-year-old genius who is the descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
- The new film is directed by Kenneth Branagh, who previously helmed Cinderella for the studio and also directed the first Thor film for Marvel
- Newcomer Ferdia Shaw stars as Artemis alongside Lara McDonnell, Tamara Smart, Nonzo Anozie, Josh Gad, and Dame Judi Dench.
- In addition to the teaser trailer, a poster for the film was also released
- Disney’s Artemis Fowl is set to be released on August 9th, 2019.
